Sound has quietly shaped my life.
I often remember places through what I heard there rather than what I saw.

Slow Radio grew from that instinct — to stop, listen, and let a place reveal itself without interruption.
These recordings are documents of real moments. Weather moving through a landscape. A train crossing a country at night. A city before it wakes.
Nothing needs to happen. The world is already there.
Each recording becomes a place that can be entered again, held for a while, and visited again.
Slow Radio is the field-recording project of Pete Ingo, a field recordist and composer based in Margate, on the Kent coast. Developed through many years of recording on location, the work takes the form of releases, podcasts, broadcasts and an expanding body of recordings from real places.
Place
Geography and provenance stay attached to every recording.
Time
A recording is a document of one unrepeatable hour.
Truth
Each work begins with an actual place and a particular moment of listening.
